Performance
Industrie utilizes fully electrified systems including air-source heat pumps and energy recovery ventilation as well as an airtight building envelope to eliminate combustion pollutants while providing residents with a constant source of fresh, filtered air and balanced humidity. Low embodied carbon, low VOC materials and finishes were incorporated along with WaterSense plumbing fixtures, Carrier iVu and Verdant building controls with smart thermostats, ENERGY STAR®-rated appliances including ventless heat pump dryers, and a 148kW rooftop photovoltaic array. Industrie is Indoor airPLUS, Zero Energy Ready Homes, and ENERGY STAR® certified.
Place
Industrie provides a critical link between Albany’s downtown core and emergent Warehouse District by replacing an underdeveloped surface parking lot with new state-of-the-art housing and street-level retail space. Industrie is located on a CDTA Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Line and in immediate proximity to the Albany Skyway elevated park and Mohawk Hudson Bike Trail allowing residents the opportunity to get to work or explore their neighborhood without the need to drive a car.
Practice
Industrie also empowers residents to be more sustainable themselves by incorporating environmentally friendly amenities and services such as a conditioned bicycle storage and tuning center, discrete single-stream recycling and trash chutes, package center with refrigeration and indoor/outdoor EV charging stations.
